The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is a holistic approach to movement that is designed to meet the needs of people of all ages and abilities to experience pain free joy and freedom in movement. Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis exercises are the equipment and mat based formats of the Gyrotonic Expansion System.  Exercises are based in three -dimensional movements that help you to align and strengthen your core and move your body as a whole with fluid, flexible strength.  Movements integrate breathing principles, mobilize and decompress the spine and joints and work all the major muscle groups synergistically for a full body workout.  Many of the exercises mirror activities like walking, running and swimming offering a form of functional movement training for everyday life and cross-training for athletic sports.

Gyrotonic Training-    Apparatus based sessions utilize a unique pulley tower system that offers supportive resistance to the body in all ranges of motion. Other specialized equipment – the Jumping Stretching Board, Leg Extension Unit and the Ladder – offer a variety of exercises for developing strength, flexibility, balance and coordination through fluid movement.

Gyrokinesis sessions are taught in a mat class format that begins by awakening and mobilizing the spine and then moves through a series of flowing floor sequences that open the hips and shoulders, stretch and strengthen the muscles and invigorate the body.

Gyrotonic training can be used as sports specific Cross training for Golf, Tennis, and other sports that rely on 3 dimensional dynamic range of motion.
